Mobile Collaborative Robot for Machine Tending and Material Handling

The goal of this company pilot was to develop a prototype of a mobile collaborative robot that can autonomously move between workstations without human assistance. The robot recognizes each workstation and adapt to its specific process. Between manipulator tasks, the mobile platform is capable of performing other duties, such as logistics.

The Tampere university provided expertise in collaborative robotics and safety integration. The system was developed in the university’s research environment, which simulates a modern machine workshop, allowing efficient and safe testing of the solution.
